Accurst are a band from Cyprus that plays a very horror orientated form of dark ambient and this is a review of their 2018 album "Messenger Of Shadows" which was released by Aesthetic Death.
Dark ambient drone soundscapes start off the album along with some grim screams in the background which also adds in a touch of black metal while the music also captures the atmosphere of a horror movie as well as the music also bringing in a great amount of experimental and avant garde elements.
A great portion of the tracks a re very long and epic in length while the music gets very ritualistic at times along with some evil sounding whispers being utilized in the background at times and elements of harsh noise and power electronics are also added into certain sections of the recording,
Accurst plays a style of dark ambient that is very ritualistic and horror soundtrack orientated along with some touches of harsh noise, power electronics and black metal, the production sounds very dark while the songs themes are inspired by H.P Lovecraft, Occultism and Mythology.
In my opinion Accurst are a very great sounding horror orientated dark ambient band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Enveloped By Erebos" "Endorcism (Channeling Eurynomos" and "Messenger Of Shadows (The Abyss Gazing Back)". 8 out of 10.
