Stroszek is a solo artist that plays dark neo- folk and this is a review of her 2011 ep "A Break In The Day" which was released by Hypnotic Dirge Records.
The ep starts out with soft sounding acoustic guitars which utilize finger picking along with some melodic clean singing vocals and after awhile full chords are added into the music and they bring in more dark neo folk elements along with some country and classic rock influences.
On these 5 songs that are present on this ep they music is very dark and haunting sounding and it is done by all acoustic guitars and melodic vocals and the sound this solo artist creates is very esoteric and etherial sounding.
Song lyrics cover darkness and nature themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful and dark sound with all of the vocals and guitars having a very great sound to them.
In my opinion Stroszek is a very great sounding dark, neo -folk music artist and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Autumnal Moon" and "Secret Of the Earth". 8 out of 10.
