Somnium Sanguis Caelestis are a band from Greece that plays a mixture of ritual, dark ambient, drone and experimental music and this is a review of their 2012 album "Veneo Astrum Draconis" which was released by Kalpamantra.
Synths bring a very dark and atmospheric sound to the music with influences from both experimental and dark ambient music, while the sound effects bring the drone and ritualistic parts to the music along with some occult sounding drum programming.
Vocals are all spoken word parts and ritualistic chanting, while the song themes cover dark, occult, ritual and Luciferian themes, as for the production it has a very dark and primitive sound to to it.
In my opinion Somnium Sanguis Caelistis are a very great sounding hybrid of dark ambient, drone, ritual and experimental music and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Invocation-The Voice Of A Splintered Starlight" "Aspiration-Inner Cathedral" "Communion-In Lux Lucifera" and "Metamorphosis-Consumed By Poison, Scorched In Black Flame".
