Joran Laperre is a composer from Belguim that plays a very dark and atmospheric form of ambient/drone and this is a review of his 2011 live e.p "Live At TAG Art Gallery" which was released by Kalpamantra.
Synths bring a very dark and ambient drone sound to the music with this 20 minute long improv as well as adding influences from atmospheric and experimental music, as for the sound effects they bring an avant garde noise sound to the music.
Vocals and songwriting are all absent from this music with the whole recording being instrumental and improv, while the production on this recording which was recorded live has a very dark, raw and primitive sound.
In my opinion Joran Laperre is a great ambient/drone composer and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check this recording out. RECOMMENDED.
