D.R.I.S.T are a project from Athens, Greece that plays a mixture of idm, experimental, and dark ambient music and this is a review of their 2011 album "Ward.67" which was released by Kalpamantra.
Synths bring some dark ambient/drone soundscapes to the music, while the sound effects bring elements of idm and experimental music sounds to the recording with the songs being long and epic in length.
Vocals are mostly clean singing female vocals and samples, while the song themes cover dark and psychological themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to the music.
In my opinion D.R.I.S.T are a very great sounding hybrid of dark ambient, idm and experimental music and if you are a fan of this musical style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "WD.67". RECOMMENDED.
